How can European automotive professionals buy cars in France?
Sourcing, inspection, negotiation, paperwork and transport: how MC Export helps European automotive professionals buy vehicles in France as if they were there.
Buy in France without being physically in France
For a European used-car dealer, automotive group or professional buyer, France offers a considerable pool of vehicles. In 2025, the French used-car market recorded 5,396,432 transactions, close to historically high levels. Source: AAA DATA
But a large supply does not mean that buying remotely is easy. The real advantage is market access: knowing who to call, within which dealer group and brand network, how to secure a transaction with a private seller, inspect the vehicle and arrange collection quickly.
This is MC Export's role: enabling a European automotive professional to buy in France as if they were on the ground.
The French market is more than public listings
Part of the supply is visible on classified platforms, but professional sourcing also works through networks. French dealer groups are organised by territories and brands, often referred to in the trade as “plaques”. Regular access to the right cars therefore depends on building relationships with used-car managers, buyers, dealerships, groups and local partners.
MC Export develops this network from within France. This can provide access to vehicles from professional channels or groups that are difficult for a foreign buyer to approach without a local contact. As the network expands, we can search more precisely for a model, specification, mileage, volume or target purchase price.
Why some vehicles create export opportunities
Not every vehicle finds the same demand in every country. Powertrain preferences, taxation, local demand, equipment and market maturity vary across Europe. A car that is difficult to position in France may fit the exact buying criteria of a professional in Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain or another European market.
Electric vehicles illustrate this shift. The French used-EV market is growing quickly: 72,244 transactions were recorded in Q2 2026, up 42% from Q1. Source: Avere-France / Mobilians
Trust nevertheless remains important. An Avere-France study published in 2025 reported that 55% of surveyed buyers were concerned about battery condition or lifespan in a used EV and recommended broader State of Health information. Source: Avere-France
MC Export is therefore working to progressively integrate battery SoH checks into its EV offer whenever an appropriate diagnostic is available for the vehicle.
Buying from a French private seller: trust is often the first obstacle
Private sellers can be another source of opportunities, but an international transaction may worry a French owner. Typical questions concern payment security, receipt of funds, transfer/export paperwork and what happens once the car leaves France.
The barrier is not only linguistic. It is also banking, administrative and human.
MC Export can act as the French operational intermediary between the seller and the foreign professional buyer. We communicate with the seller, organise the purchasing process, perform the agreed checks and coordinate collection. The French seller has a local contact who understands the process; the European buyer no longer has to manage every French step remotely.
Vehicle inspection before collection
Buying remotely should not mean buying blind. When the assignment requires it, MC Export can perform or arrange a physical inspection before collection and report identified defects.
For premium and prestige vehicles, we can also use a paint thickness gauge to identify discrepancies that may indicate paintwork or body repairs. This is not a substitute for a comprehensive expert appraisal and cannot guarantee that a vehicle has never suffered an accident. It does, however, add useful evidence before a transaction is finalised.
If the actual condition differs from what was advertised, on-site renegotiation can also be carried out before final approval, depending on the terms agreed with our client.
On-demand sourcing: send us the target, we search France
A professional buyer sends us the requirement: make, model, powertrain, trim, minimum year, maximum mileage, required equipment, quantity and target purchase price. MC Export then searches its network and the French market.
Our work can include vehicle identification, contact with professional or private sellers, verification of available information, negotiation, physical inspection when agreed, administrative coordination, collection and transport to the destination country.
MC Export also has drivers available to organise collections in France quickly. On standard operations, our operational target is delivery within Europe in roughly one to one and a half weeks after the deal has been secured, subject to location, transport capacity, documents and transaction-specific constraints. This is a target, not a guaranteed contractual delivery time.

FAQ
Does MC Export offer this sourcing service to private European buyers?
No. This sourcing offer is designed for automotive professionals and recurring B2B relationships.
Can you buy from a French private seller for a foreign professional?
Yes, depending on the case. MC Export can handle local communication, the purchase process, agreed checks and collection coordination.
Can you find vehicles that are not already in your stock?
Yes. That is the principle of on-demand sourcing: you send the target and MC Export searches the French market and its network.
Do you inspect vehicles before purchase?
This can be included in the assignment. Depending on the vehicle and requirement, a physical inspection can be performed or arranged. On selected prestige vehicles, paint-thickness measurement can complement visual checks.
Do you provide battery diagnostics for electric vehicles?
MC Export is progressively integrating SoH diagnostics where a suitable solution is available for the model. Availability must be confirmed vehicle by vehicle.
Can you source batches of vehicles?
Yes. A professional buyer can send a quantity and specification. Availability depends on the model, target price and current market.
